Jesus Crystals and Gemstones
Gemstones and crystals have held a special place in spirituality and religion throughout human history. Jesus is associated with sapphire, emerald, and jasper.
Read here why emerald, sapphire, and jasper are Jesus' stones!
Jasper is described in the Book of Revelation as clear as crystal, and it's more about what it represents than how it actually looks. It symbolizes Jesus' divine nature, something pure and without blemish, and conveys a sense of light and clarity. This image also fits Jesus as the light of the world, where nothing is hidden but everything becomes visible in God's presence. In ancient times, the word jasper was also used for green and somewhat translucent stones.
The sapphire, with its deep blue color, is linked to heaven in the Bible and can therefore be seen as an image of Jesus' heavenly origin. The blue hue evokes faithfulness, wisdom, and truth, and the sapphire thus becomes a symbol of Jesus who reveals who God is.
The emerald, which is green, is associated with life, growth, and new hope. It symbolizes Jesus' resurrection and the new life that emerges from it. The Book of Revelation also mentions an emerald-like rainbow around God's throne, which can evoke a sense of promise and grace.
Together, these stones present an image of Jesus where jasper represents the pure light, sapphire represents heaven and truth, and emerald represents life and hope.
