Citrine is a heated amethyst, either naturally heated by nature or with human assistance. The amethyst's iron reacts to heat and this turns the stone yellow, creating citrine. This citrine is heated with human help which is by far the most common option on the market. Citrine is a variant of the mineral quartz.
