The sponge coral is not protected, unlike the bamboo coral, which grows more slowly and needs to be preserved to maintain the balance of the ocean's eco system. Sponge coral (sponge coral in Swedish) is a type of coral that has an orange-red color and beautiful color changes. It is not a mushroom but its appearance resembles that of a mushroom and is faster growing than the Bamboo coral and therefore the mushroom coral is grown in a controlled manner as it is a highly sought after jewelry stone.
